Medical food formulas are designed to help nutritional therapy of infants, children, and adults with inherited metabolic diseases.
Newborns in Japan undergo screening program immediately after birth. Depending on diagnosis, doctors may prescribe the formulas. Medical food formulas are used in combination with breast milk, regular infant formula, and food as a method of nutritional therapy to improve symptoms.
Megmilk Snow Brand developed Japan’s first medical food formulas for such patients and has been supplying since 1963. Megmilk Snow Brand views the provision of the formulas as one of our social responsibilities and we will continue to ensure product quality and stable supply.
